space becomes…

….by the presence of self. By the primary gesture of finding (building) a shelter in the wild (the unknown outside), one creates space.

Architects  design space, or rather, they design walls to enclose or define spaces; uses; meanings. This is not a primary gesture, it is an authority gesture. The space and the user are disconnected, desynchronized.

How can one take the memory of authority out of the built space?

How can one enclose space to improve the experience of the open?

I think i can see a glimpse of an answer in the grate potential of using scripting in the design process, in creating an objective analysis, and letting it’s results lead the way. I make it my mission to research and exploit this opportunity.

But first i need to figure out how this scripting, parametric, thinking actually works. After all the discussion, articles, forums… it’s still all very confusing.
